Rail map of India and Bangladesh Railway tracks in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand, as mapped by the National Geographic Society in 2016.
The map shows the route of the Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers, as well as the tracks that connect them.
The track maps were created by the World Atlas Society in collaboration with the National Railway Museum in Delhi.
The maps are also used in India and other countries around the world.
It is the first map to depict the geographical position of the Himalayas main railway line, the Narmada-Mangaluru Railway, and its many branches.
The Narmadas route is known as the “Blue Route”.

India is the world leader in railway infrastructure, but the map of railway lines has not been well-publicised.
There are some major gaps in the world map, including in Nepal and Bangladesh, where the main railway lines are only accessible via a small section of the country.
India also has the largest number of railway tracks on earth, with more than half of the total railway routes.
But even these large gaps make it difficult to map a single route, said Amit Gogol, director of the National Atlas Society, which published the map.
In Nepal, there are only about 5.4 million people, making it difficult for a single map to convey the route, he told Al Jazeera.
“Even if we were to map them in detail, we still don’t know where they are.
And even if we could, the information would be outdated and very incomplete,” he said.
India has built a national rail network of more than 50,000 km (31,000 miles) stretching from the Indus to the Arabian Sea, but many of the tracks are very short and poorly maintained.
“It is very difficult to tell a good and accurate picture of the Indian railway,” Gogal said.
The maps have also been criticised for making people feel like they are “guinea pigs” for research into railways.
Gogel said it was necessary for people to feel safe.
“I am sure that they are really doing their best to make the map as accurate as possible, but sometimes you have to take a chance and not look too far,” he told India’s Express Tribune.
The Indian railway map, created by an anonymous map maker, has been in the public domain for over 50 years.
But it has only recently been digitised by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) under the supervision of a committee.
It took six years for the new map to be published, Gogo said.
“This map was prepared by a person who is a railway map expert and an experienced traveller, so it was not easy for anyone to verify his accuracy.
But if he is not correct, you can be certain that he is doing a good job,” Gokol said.”
The GSI is very good at creating maps of the entire world, so the only question is how can the public understand the real world map and not just the digital version?” he said, pointing out that many people were looking for accurate information.
Gokogo suggested people take a closer look at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) website and see the maps, which are available online.
“NGA is the only agency that has the authority to publish accurate maps of India, and so people should look at it,” he added.
The National Geographic-sponsored map has been the subject of a number of articles in the media, most recently on the Times of India website.
Gopalkrishna Bhargava, the founder and director of National Geographic, said he would be looking into the matter and working with the government on the issue.
“Our mission is to provide the public with a better understanding of India’s geography, but also the country’s railways,” he tweeted.
